Homelessness in America

According to the World Population Review of 2022, there are over half a million people experiencing homelessness in the United States. These individuals live in temporary shelters or transitional housing or sleep in abandoned buildings.

The top four causes of homelessness in order are depression, lack of affordable housing, unemployment, poverty, and low wages. We are all Blessed & Favored before God and no one should live a life of homelessness because it is degrading and inhuman.

Our main objective as Blessed & Favored Co is to help reduce these numbers using music, art and craft therapy, sharing food using the Bible principle of loving those who are in great need, helping them to be restored, integrating them into the community and helping them lead normal lives.

Arts, creative therapies and prayer are treatments which involve restoration and healing activities within therapy sessions. These therapies are supported by a trained professional. Crafting is a natural antidepressant. It has also been known to bolster mood, improve self-confidence, improve mental agility, reduce cognitive decline, and reduce stress overall.

Bible principles and prayers bring divine healing and restoration to depressed people and bring joy and hope with the assurance of being blessed and loved by God.

Music therapy/programs can help the homeless increase their socialization skills and be a source of relationships because the homeless experience isolation and loneliness; many lack social skills or the ability to interact comfortably with others. Music also helps them enter therapeutic relationships and provides an opportunity to establish relationships with people who often do not initiate contact with others. Listening to music decreases loneliness and isolation hence making music programs effective in fostering a sense of well-being and allowing the participants to join in a meaningful activity.

As Blessed & Favored Co we believe using music therapy, handcraft therapy, and prayer the homeless can become self-aware and start to have a positive outlook on life, raise their confidence and hope that life can be better and then be able to find the solution to their homelessness.

We will welcome and sponsor refugees across the world to find safety in the USA via the Welcome Cops program.  Together as one body we will share talents, learn from one another and use our talents to help others.

According to our timeline, we will be able to exhibit our products made during the period, call local communities to participate and welcome refugees to come and have fun, support, and buy our items made and encourage volunteers. Together we will break the barriers of homelessness and addiction and change the image of homeless people to reintegrated citizens.
